Seven Steps to Successful, Permanent Weight Loss for Diabetics

The main point to remember as a Diabetic trying to lose weight and have a healthy diet, is that it is not something you do just for a few months, it is a life long commitment.
With that in mind, taken from the preceeding sections, here are our seven most important points to remember when thinking about diet changes and reaching your target weight Good Luck!

  1. Eat wholegrain cereals and bread and plenty of fruit and vegetables
  2. Only have small amounts of fat. Especially avoid saturated fat.
  3. Only a moderate amount of sugary foods and sugar - use sweetner
  4. Moderate your alcohol intake, 3 drinks a day for men, 2 for women maximum
  5. Choose lean meats and skinless chicken/turkey
  6. Reduced fat diary products like cheese and milk
  7. Reduce your salt intake - check food labels for added salt
