Hello, Hello Irene, Thank you for your question. Cholesterol levels can be confusing as cholesterol comes in two main types:
An HDL level of 60 mg/dL or greater is considered to be protective against heart disease. This is especially important to diabetics who face an increased risk of heart disease, compared to the general population. For diabetics, current advice is that the LDL level is less than 100 mg/dL.
