Founded in 1969, HypoGuard designs, builds and distributes diagnostic products and related medical devices used to monitor conditions, such as diabetes.

HypoGuard make a wide range of blood glucose monitoring meters and although not a household name themselves, have undertaken research projects on behalf of major healthcare providers worldwide.

Although not reviewed fully here, the company has an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart and Sam's Club, for a 100 pre-loaded test strip, disposable blood glucose meter called the "Reli-On New Tek". Ideal for those worried about diabetes.

Our Verdict

Nice styling, all the features you would expect. The readings take a little longer (15 seconds) than other meters, but the results have been proven to be extremely accurate.

Our Verdict

A no nonsense meter, sturdy and takes easy to use test strips. Good accuracy and a large memory. Price is relatively low and if you don't mind the rather clunky styling, this represents good value for money.
