Our Verdict

Good standard meter, rubber side bars give it a nice feel. Results in 5 seconds and a large memory. Accu-Chek say PC software will be available soon to help analyse the data.

Accu-Chek® Active

  • Lightweight at under 2oz (including the battery)

Our Verdict

Similar in specification to the Aviva, but a slimer more elegant design, which could be mistaken for a cellphone. Standard range of features.

Accu-Chek® Advantage

  • Curved test strips make getting the right blood sample easier.

Our Verdict

Comes down to personal preference, the features are much the same, as the Aviva and Active, we prefer the feel of the rubber edges on the Aviva.

Accu-Chek® Complete

  • Massive 1000 test results stored internally
  • 7,14 and 30 day averages available subdivided into morning, afternoon and evening averages.
  • Glucose range reviews - %High, low and normal, give a quick idea of how good your control has been
  • Graphs of results on screen
  • Store ketone and A1c results
  • Store insulin pump profiles settings
  • Record carb intake
  • Record a host of events, such as "drank alcohol", "Stress", "skipped meal", "After exercise".

Our Verdict

Aimed at the top end of the market, for those who really want to analyse their diabetes control with a view to improve it. This meter is also well suited to those starting out or using an insulin pump (particularly the Accu-Chek Spirit) PC analysis software completes the picture. If you are considering this meter, take a look at the OneTouch Ultra Smart.
