Test strips have a wide mouth, making it really easy to get the blood sample right.

Our Verdict

Good standard meter, rubber side bars give it a nice feel. Results in 5 seconds and a large memory. Accu-Chek say PC software will be available soon to help analyse the data.

Shaped to easily fit into your pocket or handbag.

200 reading memory.

7 and 14 day average readings provided.

Test strips can be loaded with blood either in or out of the meter.

Our Verdict

Similar in specification to the Aviva, but a slimer more elegant design, which could be mistaken for a cellphone. Standard range of features.

Our Verdict

Comes down to personal preference, the features are much the same, as the Aviva and Active, we prefer the feel of the rubber edges on the Aviva.

Our Verdict

Aimed at the top end of the market, for those who really want to analyse their diabetes control with a view to improve it. This meter is also well suited to those starting out or using an insulin pump (particularly the Accu-Chek Spirit) PC analysis software completes the picture.If you are considering this meter, take a look at the OneTouch Ultra Smart.
